To All Members of the MCU Medical Alumni Associations:

ln the light of continuing issues and disagreements among the members of the MCU MedicalAlumni Associations based in America, lwish to affirm that Mrs. L. T. Estanislao and I are the original organizers of the Foundation, now known as the MCU MedicalAlumni Foundation (MCUMAF, lnc). Dr. Emma N. Arella, who is now the current President of the Foundation, served as the longest secretary of the MCUMAF, lnc. The original officers who supported us and made the association viable were Drs. Concepcion Abesamis and Jose Garcia on the East Coast, and Drs. Edith Echiverri and Dr Ben Malit on the West Coast. The Association, through its original officers, applied for and was granted a charitable organization status with a corresponding tax identification number, 501-C3, l.L274359L.

As far as I know, there hasn't been a change in the charitable status of this
organization. Further, it still carries the same tax identification number.

We thank the many alumni who responded to our call, enabling us during my term as Dean of the College of Medicine and Executive Vice President-to successfully complete the projects designed to benefit the medical students, the teaching staff, and the community.

At the onset of Covid 19, I retired and stopped my mentoring and management
jobs at MCU. At around this time, the members of the MCU Medical Alumni split into two organizations. My efforts to help promote understanding and unity
between the two associations failed.

Without consideration of the root causes of the split and the issues associated
with them, I accepted the invitation of Drs. Echiverri and Arella to attend their
association's annual affair. This was my choice. They were the friends who helped the MCU MedicalAlumni Foundation realize its objectives. They were there with Mrs. Estanislao and me from Day One. We are and will always be thankful for their help.

I have endorsed the organization, MCU Medical Alumni Foundation, lnc ( MCUMAF, lnc ) and its Tax lD # 11-2743591 to this group with the leadership of Dr Edith Echiverri as the Chairrnan of the Board and Dr Emma N. Arella as the President of MCUMAF, lnc.

This is not saying we are minimizing other members' contributions and goodwill. We are sincerely thankful to each and every member's help in making the medical college and hospital stellar institutions.

I pray for the understanding, peace and unity of all alumni. That is the anly way

our vision spearheading the creation of an alumni organization would come to full fruition.
